FL Studio

Music sequencer loaded with options and tools.

There are many complete applications when it comes to sound sequencing or programming our own music like Ableton Live or Reason, but if what we want is an easy to use versatile application that in based on loops to create our own music, we should choose FL Studio, also known as Fruity Loops.

  This great tool uses a step sequencer to intuitively program rythms, plus the classic Piano Roll to sequence all type of riffs and melodies. Furthermore it works with a modular instrument system (sampler, synthesizer, VSTi instruments) that can be edited and configure. FL Studio is compatible with practicaly any audio interface (thanks to the ASIO and WDM drivers), as well as any MIDI device.

  Even though it is programmed to be a sequencer, this application also allows us to record audio, so it will be very simple to include recorded voice or instrument samples. Regarding the mixer, it includes 104 stereo tracks, each track can hold up to 8 effects. The application pack also includes the necessary tools (dynamics, filters and compressor processors) to be able to "export" the mastered edition of our songs.
